Dear Members and stake holders,
As we end 2025, we take a moment to express gratitude, reflect and envision our 2026. In your respective capacities each one of you has played a significant role in the growth of Uganda Counseling Association.
Appreciation goes to the UCA Board, Our regional representatives, Board committee members and the UCA Administrative staff for the tireless effort rendered in 2025. It is an honour to work with dedicated individuals like these who give in selflessly to this work. This year, we welcomed 2 new board members and appreciate the contribution made by the 2 board members who left the board.
Our corporate partners, government ministries, the academia and related professional bodies, we recognize your contribution to the growth of UCA and we commit to working together beyond 2025. Our international partners;- the American Counseling Association (ACA), National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC), EMDR Africa, Connexa International , we appreciate you for for the willingness to grow learning among our professionals.
Some of our members lost their loved ones, we do condone with the families, friends and colleagues. We commend all those affected by this to the Almighty God that he will comfort and heal. Let us not tire in standing with each other in times like these.
Today we not only witness an increase in number but several achievements from among the members. We congratulate those who attained degrees at undergraduate and post graduate levels, celebrate those who have contributed to the body of research through publications and new appointments.
Over the year, we have witnessed your immense support and participation in our annual events like the Envisioning session, Student’s symposium, National Counselor’s summit, National mental health conference, and quarterly fellowships. We additionally recognize the contribution that you have made to the strategic planning process. Your participation in the interviews, workshops and one on one engagements are vital to this process and you made it happen. We applaud you for that.
Next year, we begin our countdown to the 25 years celebration of UCA and we look forward to more strengthened collaboration and joint working. In 2026, we shall disseminate our revised Articles of Association and constitution. We shall in the same year launch our strategic plan for the next 5 years and key to note is the pursuit for legal mandate for counselors and related professionals. Looking ahead, we will continue to join hands to initiatives that are directed to the pursuit of the mandate. Additionally, we shall put in place the revised accreditation guidelines and Supervision guidelines to have standardize practice. The functionality of this will call for joint working at all levels.
