The Uganda Counselling Association (UCA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Health – Division of Mental Health and Control of Substance Abuse, is proud to announce the upcoming Northern Region 19th Counsellors Conference, scheduled to take place on October 3rd and 4th, 2024 at Gulu University Main Library.
This year’s conference focuses on addressing one of the most pressing issues of our time—mental health and trauma-informed care. The 21st century has seen a dramatic rise in mental health challenges across all societal levels. Increasing cases of unresolved trauma and rising suicide rates highlight the urgent need for interventions that cater to the mental health needs of individuals, families, and communities.
The conference aims to provide a platform for knowledge-sharing, discussing strategies, and formulating policies to enhance the provision of trauma-informed care in Uganda.
